"The Army’s Triple Strand of Strength; Military Police Corps Regiment"
After consideration of several recommendations from our student
population (where the rubber meets the road) we came to the conclusion
that this theme captures the message we need to resonate throughout our
ranks. This is a message of team work and strength through camaraderie
amongst our three career fields. We need to dialogue and renew the fact
that we are one team working in one direction to support "America's
Army; The Strength of the Nation".
The premise of this year's theme comes from a speech given at a recent
Senior Leaders Course graduation by CSM Timothy Fitzgerald, 6th MP Group (CID).
CSM Fitzgerald drove home the point that we are one Regiment
working together for one common goal. His speech talked about strength
of camaraderie and the "Triple Braided Cord" written about by King
Solomon. The theme is a play on his words to drive that point home in
line with the Army theme "America's Army, The Strength of a Nation".
From CSM Fitzgerald's speech:
KING SOLOMON WAS KNOWN AS ONE OF THE WISEST MEN TO HAVE EVER LIVED AND HE WROTE THIS ABOUT THE ADVANTAGES OF COMMARADERIE "TWO PEOPLE CAN ACCOMPLISH MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH AS ONE; THEY GET A BETTER RETURN FOR THEIR LABOR. IF ONE PERSON FALLS, THE OTHER CAN REACH OUT AND HELP. BUT PEOPLE WHO ARE ALONE WHEN THEY FALL ARE IN REAL TROUBLE. A PERSON STANDING ALONE CAN BE ATTACKED AND DEFEATED, BUT TWO CAN STAND BACK TO BACK AND CONQUER. THREE ARE EVEN BETTER, FOR A TRIPLE-BRAIDED CORD IS NOT EASLIY BROKEN".
We believe this message and theme can go a long way to illustrating how
strong the Regiment is when the entire Regiment works toward a common
goal/vision.
Think about it: MP Regiment = three MOSs...31B, 31D, 31E..."a
triple strand of strength"; etc.
We expect and want many to ask how we came up with this theme...just
having to explain it will cause us to think Regiment.
Thank you for all you do for our Regiment and Army.
