MPRA Executive Director Rick Harne has been a part of the MPRA team for almost 10 years. When he celebrates his official 10 year anniversary with the organization in July of 2019, he will undoubtedly have a number of great memories to look back on.

Those memories include working with many Gold Star Families to ensure their visits to Fort Leonard Wood and Memorial Grove leave a lasting impression and demonstrate the MPRA’s appreciation for the service of the fallen MP, as well as honor the entire Gold Star Family.

Additionally, Harne greatly enjoys showing reunion groups around the grove and museum, and talking with new Military Police Soldiers and families during graduations.

“Simply having the opportunity to dialogue with Soldiers and families at graduations or in the museum and seeing the pride they have in their service and our Regiment is something I never take for granted,” said Harne.

Harne regularly has the opportunity to speak with other groups of MPs at Fort Leonard Wood and never misses the chance to tell them about the benefits of MPRA membership.

“We are the only professional organization that provides support and services specifically to our MP family. Our Board of Directors and staff are committed to ensuring we never lose sight of why we exist,” said Harne.

The MPRA Legacy Programs, including the MPRA’s Scholarship and Benevolent Funds, and the MPRA’s commitment to connecting members with career opportunities and educational opportunities through educational institution partnerships are just a few of the benefits that Harne never fails to mention when speaking with groups of MPs.

The MPRA strives to remain fully aligned with the U.S. Army and the Military Police Corps Regiment, which Harne believes is another great benefit of membership, as it keeps MP veterans and retirees up to date with any changes within the Regiment and allows current MPs opportunities for professional development and contributing to others.

“When you see an MP working toward a degree, a family member receiving assistance in a time of need, or an MP family visiting Memorial Grove, you realize the magnitude of our organization. I invite all MPs to become part of this work – more importantly, to be a part of the MPRA,” said Harne.
